Geneva-based Penrose Brewing Company is one of the most anticipated brewery openings of the year. (I wrote about their launch a couple weeks back.) Head to SmallBar Division starting 6 p.m. tonight where Penrose helps SmallBar launch a monthly "'pop-up tap room" series featuring beer, food pairings and other goodies.

The three year-round Penrose beers—Proto Gradus, Navette and P2—will be available along with Here After, a Belgo Strong ale with pear brewed with the folks from Perennial Artisan Ales. Penrose staff will be behind the bar serving in Penrose glassware to give you a feel of what to expect if you head to Geneva for a visit to their own tap room. SmallBar will launch a "Brewer's Bill of Fare" menu featuring four dishes paired with a flight of Penrose beers. (2049 W. Division St.)
