Pencil This In: Orquestra Aragón At Mayne Stage
By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Apr 17, 2014 5:30PM
We've had the pleasure of seeing the legendary Cuban band Orquestra Aragón in concert before and their Friday shows at Mayne Stage, in our opinion, are must-sees. The 74-year-old ensemble is arguably the best known practitioners of cha-cha style music but they also incorporate elements of son, danzon and pachanga into their music, emphasized by tight musical arrangements, bright horn flourishes and some of the best rhythms Cuba has to offer.
Orquestra Aragón plays two sets at Mayne Stage April 18 at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Bring your dancing shoes as you won't want to sit down.
