Janelle Monae, Aloe Blacc, Jeff Tweedy, Nickel Creek Headline Taste Of Chicago Concerts

The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events announced the music lineup for this year's Taste of Chicago and, looking at it, we hope the food vendors match the quality of the concerts.

The marquee acts on the schedule include Janelle Monae (July 10), Nickel Creek (July 11), Jeff Tweedy in a solo show July 12 and Aloe Blacc closing out the festival July 13. The opening acts are no slouches, either. Emmylou Harris, fresh off a captivating show at the Vic, returns to Taste to open for Nickel Creek. Spoon opens for Tweedy and The Wailers set things up for the red hot Blacc.

With a lineup like this, Mayor Emanuel and DCASE must be hoping for some solid sales for seating in the Petrillo bandshell and designated parts of the Grant Park lawn.
