Have You Ever Wanted To Try Infection And Trans-2-Nonenal Flavored Beer?

By Melissa McEwen in Food on Apr 21, 2014 7:00PM

Have you always wanted to try beer with dominant flavors of infection? Or Trans-2-Nonenal? If so, The Cicerone Certification Program has the perfect event for you on May 13, when they host their Chicago Off Flavor Training Course. It might not sound delicious, but it has a purpose, which is to teach people to precisely identify these undesirable flavors. This knowledge part of the Cicerone exam (it's like sommeliers for beer) also could help brewers prevent their beer from tasting like garbage and beer writers identify exactly why a beer is dislikable. It's a useful enough skill that these classes regularly sell out.

Tickets are available at Brown Paper Tickets. The course is on May 13 at 6 p.m. at the Cicerone Certification Program Office (4043 N. Ravenswood Ave.).
