Uptown Sonic Opening In May

Fans of Sonic Burgers, fruit slushes and limeades have less than two weeks to wait to get their fix within the city limits. The long-awaited Uptown Sonic Drive-In will open 11 a.m. May 6.

The announcement was made on Sonic Uptown’s Facebook page, natch, with the all-caps “We’re SUPER EXCITED…are you?”

We may be. The new Sonic will have two drive-thrus open 24 hours, nine car hop stalls and, in a nod to upscale mobility, a fireplace and covered patio. The Uptown Sonic has had people salivating since it was first reported to be in the building stages in 2011. Here’s hoping they have enough food for everyone when the grand opening arrives.
