10 Things We Learned This Year At Baconfest

To some of us, bacon is the pinnacle of foodie desire. To others, it’s just a delicious yet passé trend. More than 4,500 Chicagoans chose to show their bacon love at the sixth Annual Baconfest last weekend. During the two-day event, more than 160 restaurants came together to showcase their bacon abilities with 7,800 pounds of pork belly over three dining sessions. Some cured it, some smoked it, some made it crunchy and some made it into gelato. On Saturday night, we ate ourselves sick with bacon, but not before learning a thing or two about the glorious food festival that is Baconfest.
