AshtonRep's "WIT" at the Raven Theatre.
Emotions run wild on the Chicago stage this week, from violence to grief and everything in between.
Motown the Musical
Motown is the kind of guilty pleasure musical revue you’d expect from a jukebox show. So in other words: nothing but fun. The show runs through Saturday, Aug. 9.
Broadway in Chicago at the Oriental Theatre, 24 W. Randolph, 312-977-1700 or online.
Wit
AshtonRep brings Margaret Edson’s Pulitzer-winning drama about an English professor (played on Broadway by Cynthia Nixon) and her battle with stage four ovarian cancer to the Chicago stage. The show runs through Saturday, June 7.
AshtonRep Theatre Company at The Raven Theatre, 6157 N. Clark, 773-828-9129 or online.
Henry V
Shakespeare’s action-packed tale includes an array of mishaps involving the young king of England, including assassination attempts, a bloody siege in France and, finally, love (or some version of it). The show runs through Sunday, June 15.
Chicago Shakespeare Theater, 800 E. Grand Ave., 312-595-5600 or online.
