Nine people were wounded in citywide shootings, including a 15-year-old boy in Chicago's South Austin neighborhood, and a 25-year-old man who was shot in the eye in Lakeview.

None of the overnight shootings had any fatalities, though the Chicago Sun-Times reports that a man was shot to death in West Garfield Park Saturday afternoon. His death represents the 11th shooting death in May 2014.

The Chicago Tribune reports the boy in South Austin was shot under the armpit and was in fair condition at Stroger Hospital, where he was taken after he was wounded. The Tribune also reported the Lakeview man was shot in the eye as he was waiting in line at a bar early Sunday morning.

He is in stable condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to a Chicago Police Department spokesman who spoke to DNAinfo. Another man was shot by police in Austin.

Other shootings reportedly happened in the Washburn, West Pullman, and Washington Heights neighborhoods. The Sun-Times Voices blog takes a deeper look at where shootings happen in the city and the demographic breakdown of those areas.

At the start of the weekend, four people were shot, and two people were killed.
