Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall has not been quiet about his desires to remain with the team. After all, he has reached the Pro Bowl in his first two years with the club, become Jay Cutler’s favorite target and became the first Bears receiver to record multiple 100-catch seasons.
The Bears and Marshall agreed to a three-year, $30 million extension Monday that will keep him in orange and blue through the 2017 season, along with Cutler. Since being traded to the Bears in 2012 Marshall is second among NFL receivers with 218 receptions, fourth with 2,803 yards and fifth with 23 touchdowns. He is also tied for second with 13 100-yard games.
Marshall, who is diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, said he would donate $1 million to the mental health community through his Brandon Marshall foundation. And, this being the Information Age, Marshall signed his contract on ABC’s “The View,” next to onetime Playboy pinup and anti-vaccination huckster Jenny McCarthy.
