It might still look a bit dull and dark after last night's rumble and rain, but fear not, the sun is on its way. Not only sun but what Skilling refers to as "considerable sunshine" will grace us with its presence by mid-morning. Expect a day full of sun, slight breezes and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Hopefully you like sunshine and the mercury floating around in the 70s and 80s (who doesn't?) because it is looking to be a trend the next few days around Chicago. The next chance of rain isn't predicted until Tuesday, so if you are planning on enjoying the outdoors this holiday weekend you are in luck. It will cool down a bit Thursday through Saturday before jumping back into the 80s on Sunday. Bust out the sunscreen and soak up some rays.
