North Shore resident Julia Collins is cleaning up nicely on "Jeopardy!", earning her 18th victory today, making her just one match shy of tying the show's second place record of 19 wins.

Collins, 31, has won a grand total so far of $391,600 while competing on the game show that tests a wide array of knowledge. Regardless of the outcome tomorrow, she holds the third place record for most wins and the overall women's record for most "Jeopardy!" wins. You can watch Collins take on two new opponents Thursday on WLS-TV at 2:30 p.m. and see if she'll move up to tie for the number two spot in "Jeopardy!" history. If Collins does unseat the 2nd place record, she'll have a long haul ahead of her if she wants to go for first place. The all-time champion, Ken Jennings, won 74 games.

The Tribune reports that Collins is a former New Trier High School student, Wellesley College alumna and a Wilmette resident. After her run on "Jeopardy!" we wonder if we could entice her to join our team in the city at some of our favorite local trivia spots. Never hurts to ask. Check out Collins totally kicking ass during Tuesday's game below.
