A good lit fest needs a gripping prologue. And because Chicago Tribune’s Printers Row Lit Fest is turning the big 3-0 this year, this one involves cocktails. Every bibliophile's favorite street fair's Thursday night kickoff also helps one of the city’s premier literary organizations, 826CHI, launch future literati into home libraries everywhere.
The 826CHI associate board, a group of 30 young professionals supporting the nonprofit organization's creative writing and tutoring center, will host their inaugural event, "Prologue," this Thursday, June 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 pm at PUBLIC. Come thirsty as well as hungry for signature hors d'oeuvres and ready to win a raffle of luxe prize packages.
Special guests will include Joyce Winnecke, Joe Meno, Audrey Petty and CEO of 826 National Gerald Richards. Tickets are available here at $150 for one, $250 for two and $350 for four. All proceeds directly support 826CHI in its work providing tuition-free writing programming to more than 3,700 Chicago students each year.
