"This is Our Youth" in rehearsal at the Steppenwolf.

On stage this week: Sting and Michael Cera. Enough said.

Damn Yankees
Light Opera Works knows how to put on a musical theater classic. This one follows a guy who will do anything—including sell his soul to the devil—to see his beloved Washington Senators win the World Series. The show runs Saturday, June 7 through Sunday, June 15.

Light Opera Works at Cahn Auditorium, 600 Emerson St., Evanston, 847-920-5360 or online.

The Last Ship
Sting is making his stage debut. Or his work is, at least. His musical takes place in a quaint British town with a struggling shipbuilding industry. Catch it here before it here before it heads to New York. The show runs Tuesday, June 10 through Sunday, July 13.

Broadway in Chicago at the Bank of America Theatre, 18 W. Monroe, 312-977-1700 or online.

This is Our Youth
Steppenwolf’s all-star cast features Michael Cera and Kieran Culkin. And if that’s not enough to get you in the door, the gritty storyline that chronicles 48 hours in the lives of a couple scrappy teenagers should do the trick. The show runs Tuesday, June 10 through Sunday, July 27.

Steppenwolf Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted, 312-335-1650 or online.
