Chicagoist Style Moments: Kyle

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Jun 9, 2014 4:10PM

We appreciate individuals with cool styles, and Chicagoist Style Moments chronicles some of the people we randomly run into that captures a particularly unique sartorial aesthetic.

Today we spoke to Kyle, a copywriter in Noble Square.

CHICAGOIST: What do you think your style says about you?

KYLE: I think my style is a good representation of my personality and interests. Clean, simple, modern but based in tradition. Also, “I read about clothes on the internet a lot.”

C: What's your approach to synthesizing your inspirations into the way you dress?

K: I like to reference different aesthetics and ideas, but in a way that always feels like me. My basic goal is that, whatever I’m wearing, the pieces should feel like a cohesive idea, and that they complement my personality rather than act as individual statements.

C: What sorts of comments do you get about your mustache?

K: The most common reference is “civil war general,” but I also get “Rollie Fingers” a lot, as well as “stupid fucking hipster.”

C: Favorite piece in your wardrobe?

K: That’s tough to say, it’s either Alden cordovan wingtips, a Boglioli 3R2 flannel suit, or Rogue Territory Stantons, which are the most perfect pair of jeans I’ve ever found.
