Double Door is in the midst of celebrating its 20th anniversary and tonight's show brings together some heavy hitters to help that celebrate. Urge Overkill hasn't played in town for what feels like eons, and we believe this is Nash Kato's first show back in Chicago since he moved out west. This is kind of a homecoming for the band and it's no surprise they chose to throw the party at Double Door since that was the location they decided to end their first hiatus in 2004 (when they asked a little band named Tenacious D to open for them). Expect lots of glammy swagger to crawl across the stage during their set. And while on album the band turned into a polished machine, Urge Overkill's live sets have always kept in a bit a grit and danger.

Also on the bill is Local H, who have never been on hiatus and never stopped releasing albums of strong music. With both bands on the bill initially rising to fame in the '90s some could miscategorize this as some kind of sentimental indulgence, but Local H never stopped being relevant so leave your sentiment at the door. And live the band remains a two-man powerhouse, with new drummer Ryan Harding more than capably keeping up with Scott Lucas shrieking guitars and shredded vocals.

Call in sick to work tomorrow now, because this is gonna rule.

Urge Overkill and Local H play tonight, June 12, at Double Door, 1572 N Milwaukee, 8 p.m., $20, 21+
