Chicagoist Weekend Theatre: The World Underground Goes to China

Last year, documentarian John Yingling, whose site GonzoChicago is an absolute must-visit for live, archived underground music (especially of musicians in Chicago), successfully crowdfunded an episode of a new show called "The World Underground." The web series sees Yingling travel around the world documenting little-known underground music scenes. The first episode, the trailer for which is our weekend theater pic, is about China. Yingling now has a new project in the works, a collaboration with AWEH.tv "to produce a documentary of underground music in N.E China, South Korea, and Japan," according to the project's lndiegogo page. Check that crowdfunded project out here.
