Video: Chicago Celebrates World Cup In Grant Park

We mentioned yesterday that if you were wanting to watch Team USA's first match in the World Cup against Ghana you could head down to Grant Park and join U.S. Soccer for their viewing party and celebration. We obviously weren't the only ones with this great idea, as apparent by the massive crowd that showed up to cheer on the USA as they gained their victory over Ghana 2-1, including a beautiful goal less than a minute into the game by Clint Dempsey.

The Sun-Times was there to capture the crowd and talk to some fans about their love of the game:

That said, we enjoy a POV from within the masses. The video we found below on Youtube might showcase the dreary Chicago weather but it for sure captures the joyous celebration after USA's winning goal. Soccer fan or not, you sure can appreciate the thrill of victory.
