Another one of our favorite after-hours museum programs, Jazzin’ at the Shedd, begins tonight, celebrating the aquarium’s 20th year of the series. Every Wednesday evening throughout the summer enjoy cocktails on the Lakefront Terrace while listening to a rotating cast of local jazz musicians. Kicking off the season tonight are The Chris Greene Quartet and Tim Fitzgerald Duo.

Guests are also free to check out the aquarium’s exhibits, including Wild Reef, Abbott Oceanarium and the popular Jellies (Touch the stingrays for an additional cost). This year they’ve also added a “Jazzin’ science pub” where experts from the aquarium will host an informal talk on different science topics. Stick around for the end of the night because the terrace offers the perfect view for the Navy Pier fireworks.

Jazzin’ at the Shedd takes place every Wednesday through September 3 from 5-10 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for children. Shedd Aquarium is at 1200 S Lake Shore Dr. on the Museum Campus.
