Grab a date, group of friends or cardboard cutout of Neil deGrasse Tyson and head to the Planetary Prom at the Adler Planetarium. This month’s installment of Adler After Dark hosted tonight, June 19th, promises any space-nerd’s dream and an improvement on your high school prom with features like open access to the planetarium’s exhibits, science demos, cocktails and a prom court photo booth.

Astronomy-lovers that want to take a break from the dance floor can take a tour through the depths of the solar system with one of two showings of Destination Solar System. Prom-goers can also participate in science demos and lectures covering topics like Solar System Science or The Science of Sex and Attraction offered throughout the evening. No word on if there will be crowning Planetary Prom Kings and Queens for the night, but those wearing their best space fashions can win free summer cocktails or a complementary cruise for two on Lake Michigan.

Can’t find a date in time? Those going stag to prom can find their cosmic match under the stars with the help of Project Fixup. For more details or ticket information, check out the After Dark events page.

Tonight at Adler Planetarium, 1300 S Lakeshore Drive, 6:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
