While most of us have put aside the Blackhawks loss to the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings in the Western Conference Finals, others have circled Nov. 29 on the schedule for the first meeting of the upcoming season between the two teams.
The National Hockey League released the 2014-15 schedule for all its teams Sunday and the Blackhawks, who were already named co-favorites by oddsmakers to win next year's Cup, end their annual Nnovember "circus trip" with a visit to the Staples Center to take on the defending champs.
The Blackhawks season kicks off Oct. 9 with a visit to Dallas to face off against their Central Division rival Stars. The Hawks host Buffalo in their home opener Oct. 11. Other highlights of the season include the Winter Classic Jan. 1 against Washington in DC; a Feb. 11 game against the hated Vancouver Canucks at the United Center; and Original Six meetings against Detroit (Feb. 18), the Bruins (Feb. 22), Montreal (Dec. 5), Toronto (Dec. 21), and the New York Rangers (March 8).
