It was a sight to behold at Soldier Field Tuesday as throngs of people flocked to the home of the Chicago Bears to watch a soccer game on a Jumbotron screen. Organizers with U.S. Soccer said an estimated 28,000 people attended the World Cup viewing party to cheer on the United States Men's National Team against Belgium and were ultimately deflated as the U.S. lost 2-1.
Chicagoist Photos Flickr pool contributor Justin Carlson was on hand to capture the party atmosphere and the agony of defeat. The photos are impressive.
