If you said we may have needed a light jacket to wear the day before Independence Day we would have scoffed but damn if the forecast isn't shaping up to be exactly that. It's clear this morning after another night of rain and those partly sunny skies will remain with us throughout the day, along with unseasonable highs in the lower 70s. Light lake breezes will help keep the temps feeling like mid-May around here.

As we head into the Independence Day holiday the overnight lows will dip into the 50s, also not common for this time of year. This sets the stage for a pleasant Fourth (and Fifth) of July. By Sunday it will feel like summer again with humidity, high temps and threats of rain that may never arrive. Have a safe holiday, everyone.
