Last Minute Plans: Candy Hearts At Beat Kitchen

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Jul 10, 2014 7:00PM

The bill at Beat Kitchen tonight is a good one if you dig the slicker side of punk, but the band standing out to our ears is Candy Hearts. Their songs are filled with effervescent, hard driving blasts of pop that sounds like it grew up on the Josie and the Pussycats movie soundtrack (which coming from this writer is high praise indeed).

The east coast trio—Mariel Loveland, Matthew Ferraro and John Clifford—just released a new album called All The Ways You Let Me Down and damned if not a single song let us down. In fact we went back and forth over which track to post in order to entice you to attend their show at Beat Kitchen tonight and we couldn't pick just one. So go ahead and stream the whole album below.

Candy Hearts plays with Seaway, Stickup Kid, and Driver Friendly tonight, July 10, at Beat Kitchen, 2100 W Belmont, 8 p.m., $10 advance / $12 door, 17+
