Sox 4, Indians 7

At least Chris Sale got named to his third All-Star team, and a compliment for him is a compliment for the White Sox, right? That's the kind of cold comfort logic Sox fans must've embraced as the South Siders lost their third game in a row. The Tribune tells of a close game that just got away from the Sox in the fifth inning after Indians DH Nick Swisher hit a two-run homer. Until then, though, it was tit for tat. So there's that at least.

Cubs 5, Braves 4

Also cutting it close were the Cubs, who ultimately pulled through for a win over the Braves in the ninth thanks to a clutch hit single [no, not like "Fancy"] by Justin Ruggiano. With the late victory over the Braves, the Cubs have won two in a row. Read the deets over at USA Today.
