The Sox snapped a three-game losing streak, while the Cubs lost decisively to the Braves. Here's your morning box score:

Sox 6, Indians 2

After a three-game losing streak, the South Siders put one in the win column by defeating the Cleveland Indians 6-2. Second baseman Gordon Beckham hit a two-run double in the ninth to give the Sox a nice, comfortable margin of victory, while pitcher Scott Carroll pitched five scoreless innings. The Indians gave the Sox a scare after scoring two in the seventh, but, as the Chicago Tribune states, Beckham's hit help push the Sox into the victory column. Read more here.

Cubs 6, Indians 11

Give Cubs Pitcher Edwin Jackson points for honesty, if nothing else. After giving up nine runs in four innings, which included seven hits and three home runs, Jackson told the Tribune he was "embarrassed" by his performance. Give the Cubs credit also for not throwing in the towel immediately after such a pitiful start. Ultimately, the North Siders answered back with six runs, but couldn't escape the Braves' commanding start. Read more here.
