Call it a summer polar vortex or call it freakishly mild weather for mid-summer. Today is worthy of a second cappuccino (maybe a shot of something added for extra lead) and a sweatshirt. The normal high for this time of year is 85 degrees. We'll be lucky if we reach 70 today. But there's a lot to love about the rest of the forecast. The sun is out at Chicagoist's Bridgeport headquarters and there will be partly sunny skies throughout the day, coupled with winds from the northwest to make everything feel like we should be trick or treating instead of hitting the beach.

The cool temps will stick with us through Wednesday before business picks up and the temps begin a climb that will culminate with temperatures reaching their seasonal averages by the weekend.
