City Vehicle Sticker Deadline Extended

If you're a motorist who hasn't bought a city vehicle sticker for your car you have a small reprieve today to do so. Chicago City Clerk Susana Mendoza announced Wednesday that penalties and ticketing of cars that do not have a new city sticker applied to windshields would not take place until 12:01 a.m. Thursday.
The computer network used by currency exchanges to sell vehicle stickers suffered a glitch for a 2-1/2 hour period Tuesday night, resulting in long lines of people trying to buy stickers and long transaction times. As a result, Mendoza extended the deadline to buy a sticker until 11:59 p.m. tonight as a "good faith" gesture.
"We took quick action to extend the grace period for a day because we want to help people come into compliance. We appreciate our customers’ patience as we worked through this glitch,” said Mendoza.
