The Cubs earn themselves a three-game losing streak, while the Sox start their series against the Astros on a winning note. Here's your Morning Box Score:

Cubs 4, Diamondbacks 5

In classic Cubs fashion, the North Siders failed to capitalize on key opportunities which otherwise may have resulted in a win. Despite two home runs by Anthony Rizzo, who continues to have a breakout year, the Cubs blew an early lead amd the Diamondbacks were able to comeback and seal a victory over the North Siders for good.

Sox 3, Astros 2

Thanks to some heavy-hitting, the South Siders were able to start their series against the Houston Astros on a winning note. As ESPN Chicago notes, had five extra-base hits on Friday, including Tyler Flowers's clutch RBI double. That makes 32 extra-base hits over the past seven games. Pitching, starting with Jose Quintana, and ending with three relievers pitching four scoreless innings, played a key role too, as the Sox struck out 14 Astros in total. The next game in the series is today, Saturday.
