Umami Burger Set To Open In Wicker Park Next Month

Eater reports Umami Burger is on track for a mid-August opening in Wicker Park. The LA-based burger restaurant with a cult following is known for its emphasis on umami—the "fifth" taste associated with meaty savory flavors. Umami burgers contain some of the most umami-rich ingredients known to humankind including soy sauce, roast tomatoes, mushrooms and parmesan cheese.
In addition to Umami Burger's standard menu, they'll add a special Chicago-only burger to the menu. The restaurant will also have a space for live music and serve beer, wine, and cocktails.
New York's Shake Shack is also scheduled to open this fall. Now we just need an In-N-Out to complete the collection of cult burger chains.
