Can you believe the Newberry Library Book Fair turns 30 this year? Neither can we. But from July 24 through July 27 book lovers can find something they love for their bookshelves ranging from autographed copies of books by President Barack Obama, South African Bishop Desmond Tutu and modern Renaissance man Albert Schweitzer to more arcane ephemera such as Civil War-era Harper's magazines and a deep collection of 17th and 18th century French literature—in French.
Everything for the sale has been donated and proceeds from the fair benefit the Newberry Library's mission. The Newberry Library is located at 60 W. Walton St. and the book fair runs from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
