On Aug. 27, a group of local beer representatives have put together the best little beer festival that graces the high waves of Lake Michigan for the third year in a row with the Craft Beer Boat. In our opinion, at this point it's one of the greatest beer-focused events that happens in Chicago.

Artisanal Imports (Tripel Karmeliet, Kwak, Trooper) and Allagash Brewing Co are back in the mix this year, along with Craft Beer Boat first-timers Surly Brewing Co. The boat will be fully loaded with beers from each of these fine portfolios, as well as food provided by local hero Johnny Van BBQ. In case beer and food aren't enough to get you excited, there will also be live music by folk duo Project Vagabond.

The best part about all of this, though, is that you can't simply just buy a ticket. If you want to ride the Craft Beer Boat, you have to win tickets by attending one of ten beer events that are happening around Chicagoland and either be selected in a raffle, or Instagram a picture of yourself drinking a featured beer and tag @CraftBeerBoat.

The first event takes place this Friday at The Globe Pub and the full event list along with all of the Craft Beer Boat details can be seen here.
