Company Seeks Chicago Writers To Professionally Woo Women On Tinder, OKCupid

An ad posted on Craigslist seeks to pay Chicago writers for—and this is no joke—professionally wooing women on OKCupid and Tinder.

Sadly, this is one of the more promising writing jobs out there.

The company, Virtual Dating Assistants, acts as a digital Cyrano de Bergerac of sorts. Potential Romeos outsource their dating profiles to the company's virtual dating assistants, who in turn do all the work of actually courting their subjects of desire. "Our team of online dating experts will pull out all the stops and blaze through the online dating in search of your ideal woman," the company's "What We Do" page says. (So if you're a successful female executive, you're S.O.L., apparently.)

Setting aside the question of how a person ostensibly too busy to court someone would somehow have the time to actually pursue a full-time relationship itself, the company says it will pay their writers $13 to $15 an hour. Which is actually a really good hourly wage, considering. So, if such an offer is up your alley, head over to Craigslist and apply. Bonne chance.
