  • A body recovered early Wednesday morning from Lake Michigan might be the body of 56-year-old Daniel Brown, who fell out of a sailboat Saturday evening near Montrose Harbor. [Sun-Times]
  • A Metra train struck a person this morning at the Joliet Union Station stop, causing delays on the Rock Island District and Heritage Corridor lines. The person was taken to a hospital, but no information on their condition is available at this time. [Sun-Times]
  • A woman threatened to bring a bomb and blow up the University of Illinois Hospital on Monday unless someone at the hospital was able to get her ex-boyfriend, an employee, on the phone. [DNAinfo Chicago]
  • In happier news, a baby was born early this morning in a van near the Eisenhower Expressway. Both mother and child were taken to a hospital and are "doing well." [RedEye Chicago]
  • A grand champion steer set a new auction record at the Illinois State Fair, bringing in $100,000. The steer named Ted shattered the previous record set last year of $62,000. [Tribune]
