Wednesday Morning Diversion: High Up At The Hancock

It's no secret we love a good fear and vertigo inducing video here at Chicagoist, our daily diversions chock-full of death defying heights, many courtesy of Mustang Wanted. So of course we enjoyed/held back fear puking as we watched a local video making the rounds that showcases the view at the top of the John Hancock Center.
Youtube user L1irnwrkr uploaded the video last week that has our palms sweating since they are perched high above the city working on the west antenna at the John Hancock Center. The view is both beautiful and a bit terrifying, looking down over Michigan Ave, Lake Shore Drive and across Lake Michigan. If you don't want to watch the longer video below, the same user also uploaded a video last year of a similar view from the same spot.
DNAinfo Chicago reached out to the Youtube user, but did not receive a response yet, so the full circumstance of the video, outside of someone clearly having nerves of steel, is still unknown. We're more curious about the other worker seen briefly smoking in the video. Those things must be a real pain to light with the wind up that high.
