While we were sleeping (or received the emergency weather alerts on our smartphones overnight) the clouds opened up and released rain on the area, flooding roadways and forcing the Blue Line's Forest Park branch to close for a spell. Things are back to normal for now, but we're going to have some more storms on the way this afternoon and evening. Wear your waders and waterproof shoes, if you have them. the worst of these storms could produce hail in parts of the area.

As for the rest of today's forecast, expect highs near 90 degrees, if you believe Skilling's word is law. There will be some high humidity levels, as well, because we're waiting for more rain. Heading into the weekend the rains will stay with us through Saturday while Sunday sees us laboring under partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-90s.
