Today's Weather: Wet Hot Chicago Summer

By Jon Graef in News on Aug 23, 2014 2:30PM

This morning's fog will eventually clear up, bringing sunshine, and, eventually, heavy downpours and thunderstorms. The dog days of summer will include lots of water, apparently. Skilling writes that Midway Airport is reporting its wettest summer since 1979, when they started observing rainfall.

As for the high today, that will all depend on whose word you take as gospel. Accuweather calls for a high of 78, while Skilling says we're due for a high closer to 90. Either way, get ready for more of the mid-week same. Meanwhile, the National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a flood warning for Southern Cook and Dupage Counties until this afternoon, while also issuing a hazardous weather outlook for North Central Illinois, Northeast Illinois, and Northwest Indiana. Prepare to get wet.
