Gov. Pat Quinn, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a host of other dignitaries and scores of fans flocked the streets of the South side Wednesday morning to celebrate the U.S. Little League Champion Jackie Robinson West team.
A rally began around 9 a.m. at Jackie Robinson Park in Mt. Greenwood, followed by a parade that quickly made its way north toward Millennium Park. Along the way, the team stopped at U.S. Cellular Field where White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf and coaches Harold Baines and Daryl Boston greeted Chicago's new baseball heroes with the Sox' 2005 World Series trophy.
From there, it was on to Millennium Park, where the team was treated to another rally.
