The pairing of fried chicken and waffles is one of the greatest gifts soul food gave to eaters everywhere. And the liege waffle, a superior type of waffle studded with caramelized pearl sugar, is one of Belgium's greatest culinary exports.

The Winchester (1001 N. Winchester Ave.) is combining them for labor day brunch, topping the combination with Blis blast maple butter and Burton's Farm maple syrup. It's a fusion anyone who has had their liege waffles for brunch or their crispy chicken for dinner will hope they add to their regular brunch menu.
