Pencil This In: Nettelpalooza At Lincoln Hall

It's always a good time to remember that our favorite local bands have families too. As much as we support the local music scene at Chicagoist, we also support the musicians that make it up. One of this writer's favorite local soul and R&B acts The Right Now are throwing a fundraiser show tonight at Lincoln Hall to benefit Nettelhorst Elementary School, where guitarist Brendan O'Connell's children attend classes.

It's a sad state of affairs when CPS schools' students and parents are forced to fundraise to keep class sizes under 35, but that's when events like these come in handy the most. Money made from tickets, limited show poster screen prints, t-shirts (kids and adult sizes) and $6 pints from 5 Rabbit will all go towards the Lakeview school to help support everything from the fine arts programs to the janitorial staff.

Bumpus, Dave Hamilton and DJRC will also play tonight. The show is 21+. Tickets are $25.
