Waking up to a gray sky wasn't the start to the day we hoped for down here at Chicagoist's Bridgeport headquarters, but the rain gear is out in case we need it.

According to Accuweather, we will this morning. There's a chance for a heavy thunderstorm this morning, and widely scattered showers across the area this afternoon. Expect highs in the mid-80s and humid air throughout.

As we head into the evening the skies will grow even thicker and increase our chances of rain overnight, with the lows only dipping into the mid-70s. That sets the stage for a warm, rainy and muggy Friday. Looks like the beginning of September is bringing all that nasty summer weather we missed out on.
