Most, if not all, of Chicago's live lit and storytelling events feature first-person accounts. Starting tonight at Maeve (1325 W. Wrightwood Ave.) WBEZ "Story Collector" Ray Teresi presents "Second Hand Stories," an evening where the featured performers tell the tales of others. There will be no notes. no readings—just the performers and a microphone, in the tradition of all great handed-down tales.

The host for this month's edition is poet and storyteller Oba William King and featured readers include Renee Albrecht-Mallinger, Jim Padar, Paco Zamora and Danny Black. The show starts at 8:30.

If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Melissa McEwen (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
