These midweek points sure do arrive fast lately. Today is going to be challenging. If you're traveling on the Blue Line Forest Park branch, you will be pressed to get to where you're going this morning. Service has been suspended from Cicero to Western due to a derailment at Pulaski (above). Shuttle buses are en route. Inbound Metra Union Pacific North Line service has been suspended near Kenilworth because a tree fell on the tracks.

As for the rest of the day, your rain gear will get a workout. The heavy overnight rains are expected to give way to lighter showers today, but we'll still have to deal with gusty southeast winds. The official highs are expected to peak in the mid-70s.

As we head into the evening the rains are expected to head out of the area and set the stage for some cool pre-autumn temps. Overnight lows will dip mid-50s and Thursday is hoodie weather, with mostly clear skies and highs near 60.
