Second City Quinn Parody Is Funny Because It Could Be True

By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Sep 16, 2014 1:40PM

Pat Quinn isn't the most dynamic personality in Illinois politics; were he not governor, Quinn may have a hard time being recognized playing trivia at your local bar. I wrote after Quinn's 2010 election that he may not be the governor Illinois wanted (and his approval ratings seem to bear this out) but he's the governor we needed after Rod Blagojevich and George Ryan went to prison. I may have been wrong; Pat Quinn is the governor we have.

Which is what makes this parody Quinn campaign ad from The Second City hit close to home, because one could see the governor taking time out from his work day to give a contractor a negative review on Angie's List. Or doing his job as if he's punching a clock and only taking holidays and weekends off.

Peep, peeps.
