Music Video Of The Day: BRONCHO 'Class Historian'

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Sep 18, 2014 10:00PM

BRONCHO's Just Enough Hip To Be A Woman came out this week and it's filled with direct songs that are just simple pleasures we cannot get enough of. There's a yelpy teenage quality to the vocal delivery throughout the whole thing that mixes adolescent earnestness with a Marc Bolan inflected sexiness. The music is a sneering attack of power chords but the conviction within isn't mean, it's all winning attitude.

When we first got the album we kept stabbing the play button on the opening tune "What" over and over again, fearing that nothing after could be that good. And then one time we forgot to hit replay and "Class Historian" exploded through the speakers and we realized every song was going to be a winner. Check out the just -released video for "Class Historian," and then treat yourself to a spin through all of Just Enough Hip To Be A Woman below that.

The band was just in town for an amazing set at Riot Fest, so it'll be a while before they return. You'll have plenty of time to memorize the album so you can sing along whenever they do swing through Chicago again.

Since you apparently can't watch music videos on television anymore, we'll showcase one here daily. There's no rhyme or reason, time or season, to which video we'll choose. Have a suggestion? Contact us at tips@chicagoist.com.
