This Sunday Chicago Market, a Chicago cooperative grocery store concept, will host a celebration to commemorate the end of their #1000in100 ownership campaign.

"We're astounded at the level of support Chicago Market has gotten. Over 500 owners have joined in just 11 weeks, so we thought it was time to throw a wonderful party to celebrate our new community," says Greg Berlowitz, one of the founders. While the membership drive is wrapping up, they welcome new members at any time and now offer a payment plan for member dues.

They've created a handy new video to tell people more about their vision:

They've also created a toolkit for owners to help them spread the word on the co-op.

The party will be complete with food and beverages from many local favorites including Katherine Anne Confections, Virtue Cider, CH Distillery, Gunthorp Farms and Big Fork Bacon Sausage.

In addition it's an opportunity to grab some treats from Baker Miller, which opened just earlier this week and Berrista, Chef Homaro Cantu's upcoming "miracle berry" (a berry that turns sour foods sweet) coffee shop. Family friendly activities include sprout your own seeds, story time and fruit and veggie bingo. Chicago Market Owners can enjoy a VIP farm-to-table dinner if they make reservations in advance including offerings from Cantina De la Granja, a new farm to table Mexican restaurant coming to Andersonville.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for kids 12 and under, and free for children 5 and younger.

Farm-to-Market Bash takes place Sunday, Sept. 28 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m at the Ravenswood Event Center (4011 N. Ravenswood Ave.)
