Morning Box Score: Blackhawks Let One Loose To Rangers By Shootout

The Blackhawks' final game of the preseason game down to the wire, but the Hawks couldn't soar over a shootout with the Rangers. Here's your morning box score:

Hawks 2, Rangers 3

As the Hawks continue to solidify their lineup in some ways—the news that the team signed Daniel Carcillo to a one-year, one way contract making its rounds online today—while loosening it in others, their hopes for winning the last game in the preseason came down to the wire. lt was a wire on the Hawks could not maintain balance to victory Friday night.

The Rangers' Ryan Malone led a late rally, then scored the winning goal, to lift New York over the Hawks, 3-2. Chicago finished the preseason with a mixed record. Onto the regular season, which starts Oct. 9.
