Pencil This In: Lebowski Fest At Thalia Hall
By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Oct 16, 2014 5:30PM
A commercial flop upon its release, the Coen Brothers' 1998 film "The Big Lebowski" has become a quintessential cult film, with scores of people quoting from the film, dressing as characters year-round, and turning the lazy zen philosophy of Jeff Bridges' titular character into a quasi-religion. This sensation has most manifested itself with Lebowski Fests across the country. Chicago's version comes to Thalia Hall 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17. My Blue Valentine will perform and the film will screen at the Pilsen music palace. Tickets are $20 online, $25 at the door. (1807 S. Allport St.)
