Watch Local Singer-Songwriter Hadley Kennary's Lovely Alt-Country Ode To Chicago

Local singer-songwriter Hadley Kennary's lovely alt-country ode to the Windy City, "With Love, From Chicago," is the absolutely perfect soundtrack to a laid-back late Sunday morning.

Kennary-indeed, like the bird-grew up on the North Shore and played around town. She attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston [where herSoundcloud says she's at currently] and released an album, In Fall, last summer. The video of her waltz-time ode to the city was posted earlier this week, and is an epistolary love song of sorts.

"Won't you come take in the lights or the lake? We'll be tallest in all of the land," Kennary sings, in a letter to a potential beau. Once the beau rejects her, she takes a walk and comes to a realization that she doesn't need the chump after all. "Maybe Chicago's my love after all," Kennary concludes, cooing over a beautiful violin counterpoint. With a track like this, who wouldn't be?

Here's a demo version of the song, uploaded on Soundcloud last year:
