Last Minute Plans: Tennis System At The Burlington

Tennis System's new album Technicolour Blind is pretty and an expansive and ambitious work. The group's sounds transition from dreamy to peppy and then back again repeatedly over the LP's 10 tracks, creating a wall of hazy beauty easily penetrable but difficult to extricate yourself from once ensconced. The trio owes a sonic debt to the Britpop and shoegaze scenes despite currently being based in L.A., so we would guess that when they play out and about in their home town folks might not quite know what to make of them. We like them though, and they're in town tonight to play a show at The Burlington (3425 W. Fullerton Ave.) as they tour behind their new release.
