Mucca Pazza adds a decidedly different flavor to Chicago’s music scene—a marching band with a punk rock sensibility and street theater appeal made for those of us who’d rather hang out in the high school parking lot with the car radio blasting than go to the homecoming game.

The group, which numbers around 30, has been doing its thing for a decade since their humble beginnings in a Chicago steel mill parking lot in 2004. Now, they’re a national act and have just today released their fourth album, “L.Y.A.,” which is available on their new label Leather Bus Records.

The band was kind enough to share it for you to stream. Check it out:

So what does L.Y.A. stand for? This is what the band’s PR person tells us:

L.Y.A. is an abbreviation for ten years of friendship and collaboration. It's a secret sign off. It's goodbye but you don't ever say goodbye. It's a goodnight wave to the friend who will slap you across the face and call you out on your B.S... help you move every time and answer the phone at 2 a.m.

The band will celebrate the new album with a record release/10th anniversary show this Friday, Oct. 31, at Lincoln Hall. Many have have already made their Halloween plans, but if you’ve ever seen Mucca Pazza perform live before, you know it’s worth making space in your schedule. Also playing will be Black Bear Combo.

Mucca Pazza performs Oct. 31 at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N Lincoln, 9 p.m., $20 in advance or $25 at the door, 21+
